I just got William Orbit's "Strange Cargo III" CD. I have been listening to it nonstop since I got it. It is absolutlely *amazing*. It takes the best elements of some of my favorite groups and puts it together into something that it should be, much like rave DJs as creators of musical fabric. What he has attained is a worthy goal of musicians and DJs. It kinda reminds me of the saucy, love-laced, ethereal melodies of Enigma, but it's much more sophisticated. It has the happy elements of Fluke, but is much better developed. It has some of the ambient themes of the Orb in it, but, again, I must say that it is delivered by a true master (not that Alex and Jimmy aren't). (and this from a died-in-the-wool Orb fan, with all their CDs [if that is even a worthy quantifier]) It has the textures of Jam & Spoon as well as the hard-driving brooding bass element of Bauhaus to it at times... Quite a masterpiece in my opinion. This is something I will be listening to for a long time. In fact, this may be the first CD that I actually wear out (In a physical sense). If you know of anything like this, PLEASE let me know (I know I made a request for this in a previous post, but I *really* needed to wax philosophic about this one. This is my vote for an *emotional* CD). Thanks, Don donpierr@netcom.com
